Chinese New Year in Liverpool

Are you heading to Liverpool to enjoy the Chinese New Year celebrations to see in the year of the Rooster?
Here’s the Chy guide to Chinese New Year in Liverpool 2017.
This year Chinese New Year falls on Saturday 28th January. However Liverpool’s celebrations span 3 days; Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th January.
At Liverpool’s famous Chinese arch there’s a spectacular light and sound show, Jingwei and the Ocean. Show times are:
- Friday 27 January 7:30pm – 8:30pm
- Saturday 28 January 7:30pm – 8.30pm
- Sunday 29 January 5:00pm – 6:00pm
In addition there’s an augmented reality tail in and around Liverpool’s China town, you’ll need to download the layAR app to join in, the train map and more details can be found at the Culture Liverpool website.
The traditional Chinese parade and street theatre will take place from 11am on Sunday 29th January.
We’ll be holding our own Chinese New Year celebrations at our Renshaw Street restaurant on Sunday 29th December between 2pm – 4:30pm.
